I can help you with operational, financial, merger/acquisition, and governance topics in the life sciences, academia, service-based, and non-profit sectors.
My industry experience is deep in the life sciences and service-based industries and my non-profit experience is in health care, colleges and universities, and church congregations. I have held CEO, COO, and CFO roles for emerging businesses, Fortune 50 corporations, and non-profit organizations. My prior CEO roles have been in the printing, water purification, and multi-state damaged vehicle repair markets, and previous COO and CFO roles have been in medical device manufacturing and pharmaceutical and drug delivery.
As a consultant I worked with health care, petroleum delivery, consumer products suppliers, and other service providers. I have held board positions for 12 corporate and non-profit organizations. I have been a guest speaker and panelist for entrepreneurial and educational audiences, and also worked as an adjunct instructor at the college level teaching financial and managerial accounting, supervisory management and general business courses.
I spent my early career in accounting as a CPA in public practice and at the manager/director level in the treasury and controller's organizations for a Fortune 50 company.
Most recently I have been working as a reporter, columnist, writer, proofreader, and sometimes photographer for the weekly area newspaper; while performing selected consulting activities. I am actively engaged in continuing education via webinars sponsored by the "Big 4" CPA firms focusing on health care, economics, and accounting and reporting issues; and the National Association of Corporate Directors focused on governance and audit committee topics. I have attended seminars and courses in leadership, program management, quality, as well as seminars sponsored by Inc. magazine and the Turnaround Management Association and executive education programs.
Please contact me and we can discuss how I might be able to help you in your business endeavors.
